LORI JOHNSON BREAKS PASSION RECEIVING RECORD WITH 83 YARD TOUCHDOWN PASS RECEPTION
Pittsburgh, PA. The Pittsburgh Passion, members of the Independent Women’s Football League, continued their winning ways with a win over the Boston Militia. The Passion received the opening kick and used a methodical 9 play, 68 yard drive, in which they intertwined the run and the pass to open a 7-0 lead. RB Lyndsi Hughes began the scoring with an 8 yard run around the outside to get Pittsburgh on the board. On Boston’s second offensive play, LB Jo Jo Warner who finished the game with nine tackles caused and recovered a fumble, but Pittsburgh was unable to advance the football. LB Jen Dulski was able to intercept a pass from Militia QB Allison Cahill which led to Lyndsi’s 2nd touchdown of the game and a 14-0 Pittsburgh advantage. Early in the 2nd quarter, Pittsburgh found themselves with a 3rd and long from their own 17 yard line. QB Lisa Horton was able to connect with WR Lori Johnson on a slant pattern for an 83 yard touchdown pass, making a new Passion record previously held by WR Wilma Walton.
