An early 52-yard pass from Corninne Schaeffer to Brandy Polinick set the tone for a strong Erie first quarter. Held scoreless for the first 14 minutes of the game, the powerful Pittsburgh squad competed a 13-yard pass play as time expired in the quarter to take a 6-0 lead. Erie blocked the extra point attempt.
Early in the second quarter, Pittsburgh struck again with 7-yard touchdown run. The Passion then added a third, touchdown in the half via a 30-yard pass play to take an 18-0 lead at the midway point.
Pittsburgh scored twice in the third quarteron. The first, a 53-yard run, and the second, a 1-yard TD run set up by long punt return. A two-point conversion put the Passion up 32-0 at the end of the third quarter. Pittsburgh controlled the ball for most of the final quarter, but Erie held the Passion scoreless through the final 15 minutes of play.
