IWFL Accepting Tier I and II Team Applications for 2011
The IWFL is currently accepting new team applications for the 2011 season.
All new a team membership applicants will be asked to submit a business plan (including marketing and financial plans), pass a credit and background check and complete a series of in depth interviews.
“Since the league began back in 2000 we have always taken great care in awarding memberships only to those teams that meet the highest level of quality both on and off the field,” stated IWFL Chief Operating Officer Kezia Disney, “That quality can be found in all markets regardless of size and we welcome new applications from qualified business owners."
Tier I (Major) teams are assigned to divisions based on region. They play against other major market teams. This ensures the level of competition remains high and the team’s sponsorship marketability increases.
Tier II (Midsize) teams are also assigned to divisions based on region. Travel distance is kept reasonable in order to keep team expenses down. Tier II teams compete against other high quality teams of similar roster size, creating exciting close scoring games that give players and fans alike the best experience possible.
The Multi Tier system gives every women’s football team, and every IWFL player the opportunity to be their best. Each Tier has a Championship game and crowns an IWFL Champion.
